We should be calling dark patterns out for what they are, instead of just focusing on "deceptive advertising" which isn't applicable to kids because advertising to them doesn't need to be deceptive to be effective and abusive.

So there is so much they could do - easily - to provide a safer environment. But that costs money and loses revenue, so for the most part they just go for the profit.
