@hennavirkkunen Welcome to the Fediverse.
This algorithm-free network can offer the EU true digital independence. Feel free to recommend it to your colleagues. -

Meanwhile, the EU commision continues to promote a fascist porn hate speech platform, adding to the wealth of its owner, Neonazi Edolf "Heil Hitler" Musk.

I wonder what would happen if some of von der Leyens many kids would turn up in grok-porn depiction.

Hello, it's great to have you here. I hope your colleagues (including those from Germany XD) will join you. We already have European alternatives to the tech giants, so let's use them. -

Block Twix in the EU until your investigations and conclusions are done. Stop getting fooled by BigTech.
If this isn’t a sufficient motivation how about this: protect kids and women NOW.
Don’t let them suffer due to administrational inefficiency. Life and psychological health of both groups are at risk.

@hennavirkkunen / Herzlich Willkommen. Super, dass Sie hier vertreten sind. Ein guter Schritt. Das sollte Vorbildwirkung haben. Da sollten sich die anderen Politiker ein Beispiel nehmen. Das hat etwas mit Glaubwürdigkeit zu tun.

@hennavirkkunen Props for posting this on Mastodon rather than on Twitter.
It is great to see the EU now take open source and open platforms more seriously, it would be nice if more Finnish politicians would understand the meaning of free and open social media.
While fines might work some time, the big american tech giants will always look for loopholes. A better move is just getting people off those platforms, and the single most effective way is for nation leaders leading by example.

@hennavirkkunen just caution here
as it may be an impersonator ?
because this do not appear yet on :
https://commission.europa.eu/about/organisation/college-commissioners/henna-virkkunen_en
and i find strange she would use mastodon.social instead of the official EU server ...
@lexinova According to Heise, the EU commission confirmed to DPA that Henna Virkkunen just opened an account at "the German company Mastodon". Of course this does not proof that exactly this is her account. https://www.heise.de/news/Trotz-Kritik-an-X-EU-Spitzen-weiterhin-nicht-bei-Mastodon-11140102.html

As long as there is no notice on any official .EU account, I will treat this account like the mails from an african prince.
You know, those who offer you some millions in exchange for 1000€... -

@hennavirkkunen Why don't you / EU take immediate actions just now? There have been already enough cases, which probably would justify a block of Grok in the EU.
Why still give X / Musk another grace period (where we all know, that nothing will change)?
Why not block it immediately and only allow it again, if changes were done (to the better) and not the other way round.
There are EU-laws (like the DSA) and if Grok doesn't comply, shut it down ...

No consequence? -

@hennavirkkunen So if "additional measures" might include ban, I advice every X user to use the @iscpif ( @cnrs data portability tool to restore X's social connections on BlueSky or Mastodon.
This take literally 1min for the first step on http://OpenPortability.org

Welcome—it's great to see you here!
I'm also hoping that you might post here first and then on other networks? If we can take away the "timeliness" factor, the media industry will also have to adapt its sources
...
I wish you a good start

@hennavirkkunen I think that if I post nudes of underage people on any place, consequences against me would happen in the moment, not in a non-specified future.
Why is the EU protecting X and Elon Musk when this is clearly an issue that should put him in jail?

@hennavirkkunen Erm, why wait for X to take actions?
If a normal citizen is violating a law, that person is not politely ask afterwards to change the previous behaviour, but will be punished by law.
Granted, maybe there is no law yet specifically for that issue, but it could be derived from violating basic human rights like Art. 1 GG of the German constitution.

@hennavirkkunen In other words, a huff of talk as vacuous as it is virtuous whilst and at the same time allowing Xitter and Elon’s pedopornbot to go on businessing as usual.
Slow handclap.

Agree totally.
But:
What about sharing pictures of undressed politicians and their families who support X.Mr Trump and his family undressed.
Peter Thiel and his family undressed.
Musk and his family undressed.
Zuckerberg and his family undressed.
Meloni undressed with Milei and other politicians undressed.
Putin undressed.
All shown on TikTok, Insta etc.Why don't we do with them what they do with us? Perhaps it's the only way to win them.
