@wx1g @FediTips depends on how the client has implemented it. If you set a filter via the website, it applies everywhere. Some clients (like @IceCubesApp) let you set server-level filters in-app. Others (like @MonaApp) have their own separate filtering implementation that only works in their client.

Many thanks to folks using the content warning (CW) feature on posts as needed (especially violent photos or videos). Thanks also for adding hashtags, helpful for filtering / searching / following ️FYI, a CW does not hide information, it adds information. It only takes one click to reveal the body of the post. It gives folks with PTSD or other issues a chance to prepare.Anyone who finds CWs annoying can set an option to expand all CW posts - see attached image.#CW #FediTips #ContentWarning

Sometimes, it's not possible to have something described by a human. I've also seen cases in which those who don't speak English well used ai to ensure that their images had alt text, which I actually found to be heart-warming.

@FediTipsSounds like you hate things like email for example as I see it you are anti spirit of federtion going back to email and usenet. This odd HOA game is one reason so many left the fediverse. The spirit of why things like laconioca or xmpp or email were built was ti allow people to communicate across servers not play server blocking games because someone you hate got an account. I suppose you haye email as well

Are you following an account that does good posts, but you don't want to see their boosts of other people's posts?You can mute just an account's boosts without muting its own posts by doing the following:1. Go to the profile of the person whose boosts you want to hide2. Click on the ⋯ button on their profile3. Select "Hide boosts"(New people: "Boosts" are the name for shared posts on here.
