Totally. We always think that our mental health is an individual problem but it is far from being the case.
I think it is an indicator of how our society is doing. And right now... well...
@globcoco @faltzuthewiz So true, especially in the US... but we others are getting there too. We need Rat Park.

@faltzuthewiz If you have an anxiety disorder then you may be told to really consider what you are anxious about and why--examine the worst possible outcome and see if it's really that scary.
But it seems to me it always would have been really bad psychology to suggest to someone anxious about their recent diagnosis with a terminal illness that there's nothing to be anxious about.
It's also probably a really sad thing to have to tell someone with an anxiety disorder that they're about to die.

@faltzuthewiz That gets me thinking about this scene from an old WW2 movie about a bomber crew. They fly into enemy territory with like 3/4 of them being new recruits and of course one screws up and sends an enemy plane into one of the friendlies and cuts it in half. As it falls down to the ground you can hear one of the young recruits in it, "But I don't WANT to die!!!"
((shudder))

@faltzuthewiz It's an adjustment. waking up with fascism so close. with ecozide happening... it ripples through the whole of me, bringing up some primal fear. I have very calm and clear moments, when i can see, how it has always been there, underneath, or where I wasn't looking. I accept the logic of it coming out and being in every bodies face. I shed naivety. I have to let go of blurry dreams I may have had when I was younger. But then I accept it. It's where we are.I find new ground under me.Where ever we will go, it starts here.

@faltzuthewiz ”what’s the worst thing that can happen?” WELLLLLL
@tina @faltzuthewiz I had one therapist that tried to take on concerns with rationalism "but is that actually a likely result?"
It didn't work with "I can't remember my last successful project" and it REALLY doesn't work with fascism.
