Garlic is your cat? We used to have a tortie (the infamous "Bad Agent Sydney") who, when the bed was stripped, would hunker down on the matress and wait for the bed to be made on top of her. There would then be a happy lump that purred loudly. Often for hours. Eventually, the lump would move, slowly tunnel to the edge of the bed, and pop out from the edge of the fitted sheet and become a cat. It was her happiest thing. My favorite Sydney pic. -

Yes, Garlic is my cat, she spends a good portion of each day under a blanket, and usually some portion of the night under the duvet.
She literally asked to go under the duvet as I was writing this post
