I dare you to use ChatGPT to wire a plug.
This is why AI is absolute horse shit.
@nomenloony What the factual uck?
-
it is a just a new form of natural selection.
@amiserabilist @Kierkegaanks @nomenloony The problem is that they'll inevitably take some of us with them.

@nomenloony
My understanding of AI ( which is none really) is that it generates a solution, answer, whatever is being sought, from a vast source of data.
So then , is the vast source it collects it from, wrong to begin with. Or at least the majority is wrong, being non human the IT machine can't see that, so it assumes it's giving the correct answer or solution to the request and so the human who requested it believes it to be correct because it's IT.I'll stick to human to human for now.
@BigD @nomenloony It doesn't matter of everything in its training set is correct, it'll still create made up responses. Everything gets jumbled about so you can easily end up with two half truths smashed together like "The speed of light is 10cm/°C"

@nomenloony It's a day later and I'm still chuckling at the labels "earth," "live," and "blue."

This gives me an idea for a reality television show involving techbros.
They get to go about common tradesmen and household repair tasks using their AI.
I think it would be popular although short-lived
@GhostOnTheHalfShell @nomenloony
short-lived, for real!
-
That number is already non-zero.
@latelesley
@nomenloony
14 wiki-documented deaths is a number way higher than what I expected. And again, this is the number of public documented... -

oh my … this is awkward and just super dangerous. -
@nomenloony looks like Google's Gemini got it right.
@skyfire747 @nomenloony eyeballing my spare plug that does appear correct, although i think the live plug is routed differently to minimise the risk of the fuse being bypassed if the insulation somehow gets damaged

@nomenloony @cyplo The fuse is in the plug, so which breakers?
@hans_zelf @nomenloony @cyplo the breaker that protects the ring main will pop if you draw 32A (or on newer breakers if theres a residual current fault it will also trip)

@skyfire747 @nomenloony however i think thats just a particular variation of the plug i had spare

The black one is obviously for an IT - power grid https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isolated_ground
Nah okay it isn't it's just bullshit.
The white one seems sane to me, but I am not familiar with UK (type G) plugs.

@nomenloony 🤯 What on earth? Jesus, apart from this insanity to private persons, I don't even want to think about the harm that the many who don't think things through or don't check the parrot's results before using them will cause to other people just because they place their blind trust in the all-knowing garbage dump. Think life-support machines, critical infrastructure, etc. 🫣

@nomenloony This post is an old or fake screenshot. I just asked ChatGPT and it was correct.

@BoloMKXXVIII @nomenloony fair point. I wonder if there are any #makers here who would be able to design and build a retro fitting turbo encabulator interface unit?
@twoowls73 @BoloMKXXVIII @nomenloony no problem,send me the complete specs and an engineering drawing of the specific turbo encabulator make and model you need it to fit.

@Extelec @BoloMKXXVIII @nomenloony can we make sure that it has the cross functional torque splitting flange discombobulating rotary power couplings as standard?

@twoowls73 @Extelec @nomenloony you might have to realign the mazar vanes to adjust for that cross functionality.
