there's this very strange attitude i keep seeing over and over in the tech industry about how knowledge is good but learning is bad.

@jyn I saw the other day a letter from Valve to a kid that they don't hire entry level, only senior. And I was very underwhelmed. Like, let everyone else do the schooling and training and not just not contribute but openly announce it.

Valve has always kinda been like that though. It's a retirement job, a place where a clique of industry veterans who all know each other can spend the last years of their careers.
