Or sure, smash if it feels better.
@JulianOliver Setting up a network of Ring cameras that only stream the nastiest porn imaginable, GPS spoofed to areas of highest immigration enforcement.

In the leadup to & throughout WW2, US tech giant IBM chose to be the "information muscle" of the Nazi Party, running census & kill accounting for Hitler's Final Solution.
As this shitty loop comes round at scale, tech giants once again center themselves within the white supremacy project. Rather than combine their power to fight back, the CEOs & investors of these corps *choose* to side with the hateful & increasingly lethal regime.
Helping friends & fam off #bigtech is a moral imperative.

I don't have a security system, but I have a friend who uses Axis brand cameras along with Blue Iris software, as they aren't controlled by a mega-corp nor by China.
If you can run your own local instance on an old desktop or something it's probably the best way to avoid getting creeped on by governments and corporations.
how satisfied is your friend with the camera? any issues with it so far?

I had assumed they've had access to them all along. I know many police departments have. Maybe this step is just making it more convenient for them by combining the databases and the interface to them. This is a great area for activism/education to make sure people know about it and disconnect them from the internet.
I'm sure they're probably designed so you can't limit them to only your local network, so unfortunately for most people the only option will be to completely disable them or their wifi chip to prevent the data being collected. Otherwise they could be used to capture any notable activity for use by our side.
