Oh, there's something like #portfolioDay ! Okay, so, I'm an #author, #podcast host and data privacy expert with a strong focus on #ITsecurity awareness. I write #nonfiction, crime and #scifi in German and English. The last two years I mainly spent with making #books and podcasts for others, like the lovely Eltville #WeinSchreibereien anthology and podcast.

One of the things I published in the last two years is the utopian #novella "2042 – The Forbidden Library". It was funded by the Call for Stories of the CCC e.V. in Germany. Thus I could make it free for download on my website, but also print and ebook versions that are available everywhere. With lots and lots of practical how-tos for securing one's computer and phone, using encryption etc. And a hands-on approach on explaining, why all that matters. The updated English version, "Easy Ways to be More Private on the Internet", is overdue and I hope to finalise it this spring. #NaUndDasBuch #PrivacyBook

This year I'm doubling down on what I really want to write, like the #WomenInTechBook for which I already did 23 interviews with women in tech jobs in 2024 and which I had to pause for other people's projects – like basically all of my own books except 2042 and the data privacy book. I still want to make the #Kickstarter campaign for it to pay the editors, one for the English and one for the German version. I hope to also revive some of the other things in my drawer. #Feminism
Speaking of reviving ... I'd love to come back to #podcasting. Currently I'm one the hosts of the #WeinSchreibereien Podcast. But I would love to revive my own two shows, #ViennaWritersPodcast on everything around professional writing and #TheDinerPodcast on data #privacy, #ITSec, net politics etc. I already had some wonderful guests like Manuel 'HonkHase' Atug and Cory Doctorow. Love to keep going from there.

But I would love to revive my own two shows, #ViennaWritersPodcast on everything around professional writing and #TheDinerPodcast on data #privacy, #ITSec, net politics etc. I already had some wonderful guests like Manuel 'HonkHase' Atug and Cory Doctorow. Love to keep going from there.

Have a look e.g. at the Hashtag #G4M4k where we're building an M4 MacMini into the housing of an old G4 Mac 'desk lamp'. Current status: nearly finished, but the new USB connectors aren't yet working, so we have to re-check the wiring. Again. ;D Yes, there will be a write-up of the project on my blog once we're done.

For some more meditative time, I'm doing #Kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending things with gold. It all started when #SpotTheCat killed my grams' tea pot – the most nerve-wrecking 17-part-puzzle of my life. Last thing I repaired was the lid of a small tea cup. I mostly make videos, sometimes live streams of my #KintsugiAtHome repairs which are public on the #DesperateHousehackers channel on peertube.
