That strikes me as strange...Milei advocated libertarian philosophy. I would expect that to allow for protests (free speech).

I now wonder: One, is a "fascist libertarianism" a thing? And two, is Milei now practicing a "cafeteria libertarianism? (IOW, is he picking and choosing that philosophy as suits him?)

@thebluewizard I’ve spoken with several libertarians in the past years who cheered for trump, putting property over all other rights, and parroted far-right talking points, so yes, I think fascist libertarianism is a thing.

It’s when personal freedom is meant as "no one is allowed to impede the freedom of important people".

E.g. when "your freedom ends where mine begins" is combined with "my freedom extends to things I own and if you’re in debt, you belong to your debtor".

This "my freedom extends to things I own and if you’re in debt, you belong to your debtor" philosophy may explain a few things like subscription or renting based usage, plus their inclination to try to make many people poor and/or indebted, in effort to deny those people some basic rights and freedom (I know it sounds ironic, but strangely make sense).
