@BowieSpace I saw a lot of great recommendations, but didn't see Switchblade Symphony. Late 80's early 90's goth rock. Tina Root is pretty awesome.

@BowieSpace there is so much to explore!
Bauhaus, Siouxie and the Banshees, Sisters of Mercy, Christian Death, Clan of Xymox, some of the Cure albums are goth-ish like Disintegration. Fields of the Nephilim, Dead Can Dance.

@BowieSpace I’d like to suggest two #Mixcloud livestreaming shows from Northern Germany: the weekly show #gothdiscoinferno by @bauhausmensch and #DunkleEchos by @thorsten
Both shows have created nice digital campfire-communities and I (re)discovered awesome bands through both shows. Micha always provides great context information about featured bands during the livestreams. A good place to discover #goth #postpunk #coldwave etc. bands. -

I'll hold off on posting a long list of band names, because, as you may already have seen from some of the replies here, a lot of very different musical subgenres can be called 'Goth', or played out at Goth clubs or on Goth playlists, streams, etc.In some groups of Goth people (for example, at a club night or with DJs after a live event) some of the 'Goth' music that gets played will be loved by some of the people and hated by the others. And vice versa, 5 minutes later.

@BowieSpace At the 'Leeds guitar goth' end, Sisters of Mercy and The Mission are a great foundation. For the 'London batcave', then Specimen are great. And of course, for elder post-punk, there's Siouxsie and the Banshees.
But other more modern(ish) bands of varying sizes (many of which are on Bandcamp, if not elsewhere) include The Last Dance, Rhombus, The Cruxshadows, Gothzilla, Witch Of The Veil, AlterRed, DeviantUK, Deine Lakaien, O Children, Frenchy & The Punk, Rosetta Stone, ... -
