Arielle is recovering well after she had eight teeth extracted this week. She only eats small portions but she does eat and doesn't show any signs of inflammation. Plus she will no longer suffer from toothache and still looks as pretty as ever.

@achso
She looks beautiful!
My two

had that hanging above them for a long time, that's why I dug deep into those issues.
A week ago, the last tests showed, that they "only" have Gingivitis, which was treated in a special dental clinic two weeks ago.
Cats are stand-up personalities, and she will get used to it, if that's the end of it.

Is it?@Dienstag It is for now but she'll have to go for dental check-ups every year.
She had FIP when she wasn't grown-up yet and the vet says her teeth couldn't develop properly under such immune pressure. So this will not have been the last time.
But she's fine most of the time and will be even better now with those aching teeth gone

@Dienstag BTW I'm very happy about the good outcome for Hanni and Nani. Give them boops from me

Hope you're better as well? -

Where the hell do those illnesses come from.
Mine were originally diagnosed with FCGV, which would have the same treatment yours is undergoing, also incurable, also when they were juveniles. We had, and still keep that tooth paste, enzymes, immune boosters, pre+probiotics, etc..
Fingers crossed, your little Lady will now be on top of those viruses and has a happy, pain free cat life! -

Thanks!
For me that was an enormous relief!
We're all still in bed, after their breakfast and some tea for me. But for me, that's more because I did too much washing and clearing up things yesterday.
Generally I'm still exhausted and miss quite some strength, but the tummy thing stopped, so that's good.
They will have their boops, as soon as they come for their second breakfast

️@Dienstag Just had a quick look into Wikipedia for FCGV – goodness...! I can see how a very heavy burden fell from you.
Arielle is FIP-free for more than a year now and luckily the horrors of that time have faded, there are no constant infections to be feared. We must take care of what she eats but overall she's fine and we'll make sure she'll be fine in the future.
Very good to hear you're starting to recover.

@achso Glad she is doing well.
One of mine is due at the cat dentist next week
She already had 8 teeth removed a few years ago but now needs some more out. She has been a bit off her food for the last couple of weeks so hoping if her teeth stop hurting she will eat properly again too

Lilli is doing quite well now, isn't she?Yes. Those 2 years were though and the hiking with her helped a lot to keep her mind happy during that difficult time.
Last year she had that operation to remove 3 very big cysts. I was scared that she might not live through that - but had no choice. The vet decided during that operation to leave the teeth as they were. It was the right decision.Yes, she is doing quite well for her age.

I bet hiking helped you to cope with it, too. It is so hard so see them suffer and not being able to take that away from them instantly.
All the better to see her discover new worlds again and again while she always has her trusted human by her side.

That's the thing, seeing these little innocent creatures and the only thing you want to do, is taking all of that of them, but you can't.
I'm so glad that both your cats are better now, and so are mine
