The promise of ubiquitous technology, thwarted by unfettered technofeudalists.

@Natasha_Jay Spot on. The reverse centaur is a reality.

We desperately need to turn this development around.

As Arthur C. Clarke said, "In the future, the goal will be full unemployment - so we can play."

@oz1sej @Natasha_Jay In the 60s and 70s, that's what we thought the 21st century would be like - loads of time for recreation. What happened, instead, is that fewer and fewer people have employment and those who don't are vilified, as though it's their fault and not the result of increasing automation.

@anne_twain @Natasha_Jay Precisely. In my opinion, we need a lot more tax on the super wealthy, and a Universal Basic Income of 25% of the GDP.

                    Perfect. Wow.

#AI gets all the "creative" jobs, and we're left doing all the "menial tasks" they predicted "robots" would be doing in the future to free us up for more "creative" pursuits. 😒

@Natasha_Jay @MugsysRapSheet I have been saying that for a while: they automate all things that are fun and that make us human. Writing, painting, music, play. This is not an accident. They are not here to help us.

Learn an instrument, learn to paint, write a poem even if it is shite! Enjoy the journey getting better and sucking less - or embrace to suck at something new today! Buy a painting by a (local) artist, listen to live music.
(edit: the idea of sucking at something new is not mine...)
