Talking to a bunch of people in the European Commission today about why I emigrated from the US. I had far less of a political voice in the US than I do here in Europe, where I am not a citizen and can't vote. I have faith in the potential for the EU to take a different course and avoid falling into fascism or dictatorship, and I'm working extremely hard to make that hope a reality.
