    "Abolish ICE" is an increasingly mainstream and extremely correct position.

      @evacide
      10 years ago at Trump 1.0 protests was the first time I saw the "Abolish ICE" slogan on signs. I didn't understand, so I read an immigration attorney's blog and the subject and thought, "Oh, okay, that makes sense. Abolish ICE." And I was not what you'd call a leftist, just vehemently anti-Trump in general. But yes, it definitely wasn't a mainstream opinion back then.

      It sure is now! Besides this, at protests we get all kinds of education about pre-existing problems with ICE.

        @evacide it feels weird to admit that there’s a silver lining to this horror, but you’re right.

        I have been in awe of public opinion FINALLY turning and recognizing how broken, unfair cruel, and undemocratic the US immigration system is.

        Legal immigration pathways have been cut and made harder or impossible year over year while the people just trying to find safety and contribute to communities have been punished and dehumanized.

        We’re dealing with the legacy of terrorism fear-mongering after 9/11 that built on over a century of explicitly racist immigration policies.

        But so few people paid attention to this or the amount of legal loopholes in immigration law that could be used to terrorize innocent people en masse.

        I hate that we had to experience a government actually taking advantage of all those loopholes before the population started recognizing that something needs to change. But at least that shift in public consciousness is finally happening.

          Abolish the organisation.

          Jail all of them for murder. With the masks, you don't know which of them did it.

          Jail the "president" who controls this murderous gang.

            @evacide Abolish ICE is too wishy-washy. I would much prefer to see calls to *prosecute* ICE.

              Professional Cadillac liberal Tim Walz threw that option away at his press conference.

              There is no criminal immunity for immigration enforcement. They have to follow state criminal law. A former federal running mate chose to not run again then chose to capitulate when he had to do his job. What were you expecting from him?
