The underlying meaning is that all the musical artists of today (in the Metal genre or not) are standing on the shoulders of giants.
There is absolutely some fantastic and creative music out there, but it may require a bit of investigation to discover it.

@tomroberts I understand your meaning. Every month I go into the new releases section on YouTube Music blind. I sit and click to listen to whatever is coming out these days. Holy mother of hell some of it is garbage, and some of it is not.
