Just learned that some sea birds track storms instead of avoiding them.
This image shows the flying path of streaked shearwaters during Typhoon Cimaron, in August 2018.
The GPS tracking data showed 3 birds flying toward the eye of the storm through some of the highest winds. Two other birds began heading toward the eye as the storm swept past.
Scientists think they might be doing this to avoid being blown inland, and to preserve energy during cyclones. Pretty cool ^^
