One of my favourite moments of this festive period so far was on boxing day, after all of my family had opened their presents.

One of my favourite moments of this festive period so far was on boxing day, after all of my family had opened their presents. My sister-in-law suggested we light a candle and share a minute of silence to remember Mum.

No one thought to turn the music off. So we spent a few seconds solemnly thinking about Mum to a soundtrack of The Ronettes version of Frosty the Snowman, before I suggested that maybe someone should turn it off. Which made everyone break down laughing.

So we then spent the next couple of minutes (because no one set a timer) thinking about Mum to a soundtrack of the dishwasher chuntering away and my niece quietly giggling next to me.

It was wonderful. Mum would have loved it.
