Grundsätzlich wird Eure Mastodon-Instanz Euch nur dann zu einer Verifikation auffordern, wenn Ihr Eure Mail-Adresse ändert. Da bekommt Ihr dann umgehend eine Mail und müsst bestätigen, dass das Eure neue Adresse ist.
Ansonsten ist, wenn Euer Account eingerichtet ist, keine Verifikation nötig. Schon gar nicht kommt die Aufforderung per DM.
