I don't get this feeling.

Trump administration routinely refuses to follow the law or court orders. They still haven't released the Epstein files.

Pam Bondi's FBI, in the name of investigating Renée Good's murder, are harassing her partner, her parents and friends, and even her kid's school.

Trump will give blanket pardon to ICE agents. ICE is Trump's personal army.

@heidilifeldman In ordinary times this would help a lot, but we are not living in ordinary times. Those agencies will not obey the court order. They’ll ignore it just as they have so many other rulings.

When do we say that the legal system is broken and will not get us out of this fix? We will need it later, for the trials, but right now it is useless without effective enforcement.

(1) Destroying evidence must already have been illegal, so this doesn't add anything.

(2) Trump will take no more notice of this than he does of any other court orders, so this doesn't add anything.

(3) In the unlikely event that Trump even gets to hear of it and it does bother him, he'll simply get the supreme court to overturn it, so this doesn't add anything.

Oh wait ... some lawyers got paid loadsamoney for this court case, so there *are* some winners.

@heidilifeldman the fact that (blue) states legitimately are compelled to go to the federal courts for this type of relief is evidence that we are already in a civil war in the US, started by the executive branch against states that did not cote for this executive.

@TimWardCam @heidilifeldman i think, though I am not certain, that the lawyers that filed for this and got the relief were the Minnesota state attorney general’s office and/or the attorneys for the county where Minneapolis is located - the public servants of Minnesota, not private lawyers.
