Without NATO, Rutte is nothing, so of course his brain cannot, must not, accept the possibility that NATO might fail.

@randahl Rutte understands that NATO has a problem if the US becomes its adversary instead of a partner. We’re currently too dependent on their equipment, technology and logistics capability. Rutte also knows that a surefire way to provoke Trump into doing something, is saying that he can’t or shouldn’t do it. He’s buying time and he doesn’t care about what the world thinks about how he does that. “Teflon Rutte” indeed.

But NATO-1 had better quickly build everything that we now need the US for.
