N900 hardware was rock solid and beautiful, and the software was constantly improving with time.
At the end of its life it was super polished and functional, if it wasn't for the 256MB ram I would have kept it much longer -

@ploum Heya, not sure whether you go back to these to clarify things - but it says that MS bought whole Nokia. They bought the mobile phone division only.

@richlv : indeed but, at that time, the non-mobile phone parts were relatively small (except the new Navteq part).
In my circles, this was seen as a move to buy Nokia while avoiding too much antitrust scrutiny (as Nokia was not really bought).
