Sometimes I think about the vastness of what has to change and it feels...too much.
Then I see we're already working on it: *all these people* are changing already.
Then I remember: it doesn't matter if I can "see" them, seeds planted long ago sprout all time.
The important part: plant the seed.

@susankayequinn This.
We often see how easy it is for the weeds* to spread. Culturally we've been taught to accept extreme wealth and the cruelty of power. This was something that we were taught, you can see it becoming a real narrative over time.
Kindness is capable of growing as wildly. Its why they're trying so hard to pull up all the seedlings. Our harvests reflect what we have tended and nurtured.
*weeds in the sense of whatever outgrows what we would prefer to grow in our lands

@susankayequinn For me at least I just try to focus on what I can personally do. I try to influence the people around me to make positive changes and ask others to do the same. The changes that need to be made are vast for one person, but if we make a tree of influences and communities it won't feel as vast I think.

@susankayequinn We should have listened to CS Lewis and Rachel Carson and some of the others who were talking about these things 100 years ago! We still could!

@denizb33 we DID listen to Carson... and formed the Environmental Protection Agency and passed the Clean Water Act and passed the Clean Air Act... and then we decided Greed was Good and consumerism was everything and we elected a felon and rolled it all back
but we can start today

and choose different@susankayequinn Yes! It's like the people who send Good News newsletters, e.g about the Pacific garbage cleanup, or talk of all the hopeful things happening in science and medicine -- we need more of these in our daily feeds!
