@UKFilmNerd my first cat used to do something similar, she'd sleep on a particular stair and no other. We found out why, the central heating pipes ran underneath that stair before going into the wall.

@dammitjanet we put blankets over the airer and radiator to make a heat tent to dry the clothes out quicker. She can be found in there most of the time.
