@maikel @thomasfuchs the main problem with guillotines is that after lefties behead royalists, they start to behead each other. The French Revolution was full of examples. So you never know, from which side you will approach a guillotine tomorrow...
@torf just let the French sort it out and order some croissants to finance their efforts.

It's a win-win.
Stay safe in Cadiz town centre, never conquered by them.

- Guillotinesthere's a sizeable cryptoleft community working on tools to support worker movements ... a lot of it is DOA or vaporware at this point though. sad.

@maikel @thomasfuchs That is exactly it, the funny idea that personally you would be able to stay safe somewhere outside. Sometimes works, sometimes not really.

@diffrentcolours @thomasfuchs @PixelRobot Not sure if this is a “geeks don’t shower” kinda joke or some legitimate medical issue but I think both are valid
@itsmistermoon @diffrentcolours @thomasfuchs @PixelRobot it's... About COVID (and other communicable disease)
BO is bad but it won't kill or disable you.
-
@thomasfuchs meh, the guillotine was also for example used by the nazis to kill a lot of people. I don’t feel excited about the state killing people
@enby_of_the_apocalypse @thomasfuchs it's not about fetishising the apparatus. It's an Eat the Rich thing. Chop off their heads.
Redistribute their wealth.
Revolution.The tool doesn't matter.

- Guillotines@thomasfuchs the first three for sure. #4 useful to half the population, and #5 I don't believe in the death penalty...as tempting as it may be, especially for a trial of Trump or Musk or Thiel.

@thomasfuchs @PixelRobot I wish the left were more interested in ventilation, filtration and masking. Most leftist spaces are inaccessible to me.
@diffrentcolours @thomasfuchs @PixelRobot ventilation and air purification, definitely, especially in ways that are affordable. But the "owners" would want to make air a commodity if they could.

@torf yeah the guillotine fetish is one of the examples of far-right morality popping up on the left. I'd like to see less of that but there's no getting away from some things, I guess.

@maikel @thomasfuchs@torf (specifically, washing away degeneracy/evil/the parasites in blood is a core fascist idea, but that's exactly how the guillotine is portrayed on the left. Theoretically the difference is in who gets targeted, but that distinction wears pretty thin sometimes and with some tendencies)

@maikel you're welcome to block me, friend, but I've been a leftist or leftist adjacent for more than twenty years, so I permit myself to express the odd unpopular opinion, in the spirit of critical support @torf @thomasfuchs

@alter_kaker I'm fine with you here, as far as you can manage my guillotine fetish. If not, then seriously block me, I'm too angry with billionaires to mind my language. I won't hold it against you.
