          @cR0w @pitrh

          tracked down a few years ago by the retro computing folks:

          https://retrocomputing.stackexchange.com/questions/15295/what-is-the-origin-of-this-bizarre-advert-of-people-wearing-swimsuits-in-a-room

          TL;DR - Computer Decisions magazine vol 15, 1982/3, advert was from Airflow company selliing DATAC air conditioning

              @cR0w not sure that is an accurate picture of the tech industry. Most of my jobs did not have that dress code.

                  @cR0w I have vague memories of computer rooms in that era being freezing fucking cold. Like bring a jacket and boots and gloves with the fingertips open and they are freezing anyway.

                    @bamfic I liked the ones that alternated hot and cold aisles but weren't separated well. It was like going from a hot tub to a cold pool and back.

                        @cR0w Last place I worked that I had to actually commute into an office (just before COVID) had a data center with those kinds of aisles. If I was waiting for a colleague to patch or check something in the cold aisle I'd say I'll be over there and walk around to the hot aisle.
