A huge shift in tech: Now Lenovo sells PCs and laptops with pre-installed Linux and provide full support.

This makes me as Ubuntu user very happy.

Buy a Lenovo Linux PC/laptop and enjoy a computer that belongs to you and doesn't spy on you like Windows 11.

I picked up an old Lenovo ThinkPad T480s. I don't know if they still build them as well and as modular (this thing is built like a tank), but in any case ... older hardware still rocks. It runs Linux and FreeBSD like a champ.

@pierre_bernard According to the video, you'd have to pay extra now for Windows and you'd have to ask for it. AI PC is heavily marketed by Microsoft.

@pierre_bernard @sslaia It will probably run Linux just fine and if you want to use a *local* AI application under Linux, that application can benefit from the additional NPU that is present besides the regular CPU and GPU in "AI PCs".

@sslaia The video preview is... AI-generated. Also, Bill Gates is long gone as CEO so he probably doesn't give a flying copulation about Lenovo (and Dell!) giving the option of installing Linux instead of Windows.

He has other problems too, because he's mentioned in the Epstein Files rather often.

@justdude @sslaia I had Windows 11 on an old computer and it was constantly breaking so I didn’t even back it up and deleted it and MacOS and after a lot of messing about have a lovely Fedora 43 system
