I've been thinking a lot lately about the security risks and ethical dilemma of being very dependent on companies like Microsoft, OpenAI, Meta etc. I'm thinking if concerns should be raised at my workplace (where we have Microsoft 365). But I don't think universities will change their systems until there's a larger national shift towards European products. Finland is VERY entangled with US tech, and I don't believe a shift will happen fast. But the weak signals for change are getting louder..

Personally I tried staying away from Meta for a year, but very few others from my network joined in the alternative platforms, and it was like losing touch with communities I still need to be in contact with. So now I'm a little bit everywhere, trying to figure out how to continue with social media in general.
