I joined #mastodon last week, on a whim, with no idea what to expect
Minutes later, I was welcomed by @dillyd which has never happened on any other platform and was a wonderful introduction. So I posted a couple pictures of my #cats, and found, to my surprise, people reacting and interacting
Maybe it's because I'm not fighting an algorithm, or maybe I just found a place where folks truly appreciate cats. Either way, I'm very happy to be here, and I hope you're prepared for more cat pictures

@rufustheduck I don't interact much because I'm a lurking looky loo, but this platform is much more welcoming and easygoing. It feels like it takes its time. I guess since it's not bombarding you with ads and tacky and inflammatory targeted posts for engagement... to see more ads lol

If you haven't found them already, you might like the BikeTooter and bookstodon hashtags.@dillyd I don't know anyone here. I came to try it out. Been wanting to try it for a while and finally got around to it. I've been off twitter for 3 years, and I've tried other social media platforms and they are okay.

Well I got two cats a few years after joining mastodon after scrolling through #caturday images one Saturday morning, so yeah there's a lot of cat content. Welcome aboard!
