Although Tom and Charlotte did get married 5 years later and are still together with 2 kids, so there’s a happy ending for this one anyway.

@Nickiquote why do people keep adapting Wuthering Heights? Is there some desire to permanently change it into a love story when it isn't one?

Of course the greatest version of Heathcliff was Cliff Richard in the 90s stage musical.

And then of course there’s pre-Lovejoy, pre-Deadwood Ian McShane as Heathcliff in the 1967 TV version. A Heathcliff with a firm grasp of how handsome he is. Adam Ant could never.

@Nickiquote Still trying to work out why there are so many feature length covers of Kate Bush songs.

All these plus Men who stare at goats being a cover of Cloudbusting.

I have not seen the 2003 MTV version. The DVD cover doesn’t quite sell it to me.

Apparently it’s a musical about “Cate” and “Heath” and “Hendrix” (Hindley), also featuring Francis from Malcolm In The Middle.

@Nickiquote I'm not entirely sure why. I get that it's a landmark work in the genre of profoundly unlikeable people who deeply deserve each other, but surely we only have to endure that once?
