Well, it's official. I can finally kick good old crappy Adobe Reader to the curb. In comes Foxit PDF reader, as they've enabled accessibility support. Plus, I have found a portable version of it and it even lets you fill out PDF forms. So Adobe go bye bye and now I have something that is actually quite snappy to use. Yay! https://portableapps.com/apps/office/foxit_reader_portable

@mcourcel I will try this. Wonder if paperback is planning to add PDF forms? I’m sure it’s not a simple fix.

@mcourcel @technocounselor Hmmm. Doesn't FoxIt also edit PDF's? I'll definitely check in to this solution especially to determine if editing is accessible and if it generates tagged accessible output.

@mcourcel Oh, intriguing. Does the JAWS virtual cursor or NVDA browse mode automatically work with Foxit Reader, or do you have to do something else like bring up the document in a web view?

@mcourcel Oh wow! I heard some blind folks talking about it, but I didn't realize the devs had put in accessibility work. I'm gonna go give this a spin with NVDA

@vol4life8657 @matt @mcourcel It's damned fast too. Recently, I've gotten used to opening PDF files in Firefox. This is as fast.

@bmoore123 You sure can. works great.
-
@mcourcel I knew about foxit for ages!
@TomGrant91 Yeah, I did too, but the first time I tried it, their accessibility sucked. It's much better now.

@mcourcel Not forgetting the fantastic paperback
@TomGrant91 Never, Paperback is da bomb!
-
@bmoore123 You sure can. works great.
@mcourcel @bmoore123 So let me get this straight. The standard version won't let you fill out forms, but the portable version will? I mean, I'm not gonna shoot a gift horse in the mouth, but, that sounds weird.

@darrell73 @technocounselor I think It does? I ahven't tried as of yet, but yeah, that would be cool.

@matt Nope, it works right out of the box. I did encounter some sort of "hey, try this", window, but escape got rid of it and I was in my PDF document.

@Rosalyn @bmoore123 Standard version should let you do that as well. I was just sniffing around and found a portable one is all.
