You are allowed to find moments of joy, even in all the horror.

@FranceskaMann @CosmicCollective A larger point is that a person’s worth is not based on “what have you done for me lately” and living up to someone else’s idea of what you are and are not capable of.
Your fixation on one particular contribution is obscuring these larger, more important ideas.

You are allowed to find moments of joy, even in all the horror. Joy is not a prize for getting through it all, it is an important tool to *enable* us to get through this. Joy itself is an act of resistance, so look for the joys. Small ones, big ones-doesn't matter. Find them, embrace them, let them comfort you, let them fuel you.
@CosmicCollective You have permission to enjoy your life. Joy helps us keep balance in such unbalanced times.

@CosmicCollective I'm calling nonsense. Anger has always been the best motivation for change.
What you said sounds nice, but that's it. -

What you said sounds nice, but that's it.@valentina_antifa_73 and where exactly did I say "Never be angry" or "anger isn't valid" in my post? Anger can certainly also be motivation, and moments of joy are also important(as is rest etc).

What you said sounds nice, but that's it.@valentina_antifa_73 @CosmicCollective Think about what kind of person finds talk of joy offensive. Is that a person others can work with, or even want to be around?
Maybe you’d be more effective if you made seated your consumption of ragehol.

Joy grants mental resilience. It buffers grief.

@CosmicCollective A friend of mine was arguing against this - "The personal is political, so I dare not find joy amidst this suffering." I searched on "The personal is not political" and found this fascinating philosophy / sociology / biography essay about Hannah Arendt and Martin Heidegger: https://www.bostonreview.net/articles/seyla-benhabib-personal-not-political/
