Lady has her card declined in a supermarket.

@Geri Yes, me too. I don’t have kids. And I always think how awful it would be, not just for the mum, but for the child. I’m not super well off, but if I can spare someone that humiliation, I do - always.
@Remittancegirl @Geri I have done it too and I don't understand anyone who wouldn't if they know they can afford it.

Lady has her card declined in a supermarket. There are two people behind her, one is a man, the other isn't.
@Geri something
My husband will do this sometimes, especially giving money to street musicians. Aggravating in the moment, but he's a great guy that's why I married him

@Geri That cap-wearing SoB should get a kick up his rear end. He's not a good example of a human being.
I haven't had a chance to be a good samaritan like that yet, but I'd do it.
So, if there is any saving grace to the AI slop, it’s that it gives you the opportunity to decide in advance that, in that situation, this is what you’d do. Which is a good outcome.

@Geri How easy it is to be a good person. And how effortlessly the other is an asshole.
-
@Remittancegirl @Geri I have done it too and I don't understand anyone who wouldn't if they know they can afford it.
@chris_e_simpson @Geri Here in the neighborhood I live in, a lot of people do it.
But also, I can’t tell you how often I have watched my greengrocer simply give them the fruits and veggies if their card gets declined. He always says… don’t worry. Next time.

@Remittancegirl @Geri I can't stop thinking about the guy in the hat. Imagine him telling the story to someone afterwards: "...so her card was declined and she asked for it to be scanned again and I told her, if you can't pay, just get out, but then this guy behind me paid for her instead."
And now I can't stop wondering if his next sentence would be:
1. Why didn't I just do that? Am I a bad person?
2. She'll never learn to live within her means that way.
3. Something sexist and or racist. -

@Geri I hope this isn’t AI, because I want to believe I’m not the only person who does this.
@Remittancegirl it's not importantant if it is

@Remittancegirl I have given away lots of money to people who are worse off than me. People in the streets, all sorts xx

@Geri It is visibly AI. Well, you don't know where it's from, then maybe you should for the next time, please?

@Geri [redacted] [due to the angry vulgar sounding dutch words. We dont know what Noortje said...its in the fake Dutch language, but it was the way she said it]

@Remittancegirl @RandamuMaki @Geri
The bad news is that this probably wasn't real. Shame on the idiot who thought it was a good idea to make it up.
The GOOD news is that there are plenty of examples (some of them documented) where the generous act IS real.

@Geri Tell me which one is a man, and I'll tell you if I want to be a man.

If you see something, fix something...if you can. Don't add to the world's overabundance of jackasses.

@Remittancegirl @Geri @klorydryk it is visibly AI... (just look at the cashier's hand)
@tdelmas @Remittancegirl @Geri @klorydryk Even if it is AI, that doesn't invalidate the message. People take moral lessons from fiction all the time.
