Please stop thinking of fedi as "social media".

@osma That's how all the old social media platforms worked though. And blogs (back when blogs were cool) were also considered a part of the 'social media' umbrella. There were never any editors, that's what the 'social' part means - social media is just people getting our news / book reviews / opinion pieces / comics / cat pics from other people.

Just because the big evil companies enshittified the big evil platforms, shouldn't mean they get to monopolise the words too.
