@SallyStrange I wonder, if one were to "eat the rich", and not even all the rich, say like maybe the top 0.5 percent, if then degrowth would be achieved in a significant percent.
And if "eaiting" the top 1 or 2 percent would place us into almost solarpunk territory.
All of this is wistful thinking of course.

I think yes! Certainly the yacht and private jet industries would experience significant degrowth. -

The more I read through @gerrymcgovern ‘s book (99th Day), the more urgency that every community has to as quickly as possible find ways to meet their basic needs locally and by this I mean, without reference to the global supply chain as best they can.
Renewable energy.. and AI are destroying the world ecosystems. The destruction is millennial. High tech is not green. Renewables are not green. They are destroying the planet to build them.
The book is out February 2.
