If we merely stopped importing and exporting oil to and from the US it was not merely stop a lot of ocean traffic but simultaneously greatly reduce the threat of major oil spills along our coasts. We currently import and export about the same amount of oil, so the entire operation is merely make-work for the shipping companies and dockworkers. -
