It's a mistake to believe that Trump has destroyed the Republican Party. In truth, while it's true he's taken over, he is simply fulfilling the modern Republican Party's aims. They are what they do. The Republican Party is a fascist organization.
The rules of the organization dictate blind loyalty/obedience as the only acceptable criterion for membership. Everything else is just window dressing.
