It's a regret. I've had a few times I might have lived and worked there, but life and family. But now the landscape as trans means I may never go there again . And that is really sad as I've lived extensively on three continents so far ...@Natasha_Jay There are trans-safe places in the US. I live in one (New England). But the catch is, to COME here, you must pass through our borders. And the people handling that are no longer trustworthy, and increasingly subject to increasingly harsh, often intentionally anti-trans policies. The US is not a trans-safe country to ENTER, even if you're going to trans-safe parts of it like mine.
But I would say this to ANYONE thinking of coming here. This is not a safe country for ANYONE to visit.

I used to travel to Santa Monica quarterly as my HQ was there. I remember those borders and it's intimidating enough in 'guy mode'. Now, no thanks for the exact reasons you say. It's sad, now is the time of life (older!) I'd like to see the US a bit more -

Why don't they change the sign to say "Dust storms may NOT exist?" Seems like that would solve the problem.

Bonus, if you do ever get there, that intersection is really close to part of Petroglyph National Monument. Parking is not right off either Universe or Rainbow, but it's really close. And the petroglyphs are numerous and easy to see from the trails.
