I was sure I was "gen Y", and that it was distinct from "millenials" but it seems not.
So Millenial here, but as I'm in France and everything is shifted, I see some similarities with gen X too.@nartagnan @thordis no, you're right. Gen Y was distinct from millenials until approximately the early 2000s. Now also known as xennial.

@thordis I'm not entirely certain what generation I'm meant to be in, because I remember the Pre Google YouTube, life before the iPhone and grew up in the Lol Random, MLG era of memes, but I also had dial up when I was young?
So I like to usually say I'm a Zellenial, Born before 9/11 anyway, can't remember it though

@thordis these marketing terms are confusing as the date ranges vary by country and social class, so plenty of people are lumped into one bucket but don't really belong.
Only if you were born in the middle, in a mainstream western country to average age parents does it even vaguely apply.
For my sins Gen X, whatever that means.
