i've been thinking about a few things recently. so we only use about 20-30% of our muscle's potential because it's not ideal to tear ourselves apart unless there's an emergency (consider a mom lifting a car or nightfall's punch from anya and family). training can raise this number, but mainly in elite athletes and probably not exceeding 40-50%.
so people with down syndrome can be very strong, and it's thought that they have a kind of all or nothing sort of motor control. this is colloquially known as "tard strength." quite a few of the best powerlifters i've seen have characteristics resembling them. I wonder if there is a connection
