@libreoffice can you replace x.com with xcancel.com maybe? that way, people don't click through to twitter accidentally. Some of us have automatic redirects, but not everyone

For anyone interested in the perverse denialism of the people stuck on the platform formerly known as Twitter, this conversation is quite a case study:
https://nitter.net/LibreOffice/status/2026204949760131158Starts out with a critical X user who is, you should know, "very pro-open source in privacy". Others are concerned that Fediverse engagement might be skewed by "more bots than here", and of course the all-time great "If you want true decentralized social media then it is Nostr".
People are beyond saving.
@libreoffice@sab @libreoffice People who migrate to mastodon are often confused by the "low number of followers" until they realize 99.9999% of the accounts over here are actual people, and the bots get filtered relatively fast

@libreoffice A migration as zippy as moving from one cell to the next in Calc

Ich würde sogar sagen, dass ihr nicht nur reduzieren, sondern alle Kommunikation dort stoppen solltet. -

A warm welcome to the Fediverse!

@libreoffice Don’t be surprised if you get a reprimand for that on X. And the question remains how many of your followers will see it there.
@Schimmelreiter @libreoffice i'm guessing they'll go with 'that's partially why' on both counts

@libreoffice I wanted to ask for years. Is there a simple edition of LibreOffice? "LibreOffice SE"
Or is there a way I can have all the options I don't use or don't understand thrown out?
I would like to pay, perhaps others too. Am happy to contribute a bit to a crowdfunding.

@libreoffice
Great decision!
We also decided/announced this in 03/2025. -
@oblomov @libreoffice it is objectively extremely funny
@eniko @oblomov @libreoffice That's what you get if you think picking truth.social as your home instance is a good idea

-
@apnoe_soeren @libreoffice not hoping that btw. did you read the comments? ooof.
@f4grx @libreoffice Most of them do not know about Mastodon. That's why.

@rl_dane @cameron_bosch @mcbaumwolle@mastodon.social @libreoffice oh this one is a laugh

@rrustema @libreoffice If I'm understanding this correctly (i.e. simplifying the interface) that's a real tricky thing to ask for. After all, different people need different parts of the interface. Stripping it back to the bare essentials will mean different things to each of those users.
However, the interface is highly customizable. There are a ton of options right there in the View menu, and if you select "User Interface" you can choose a preset that fits your wants/needs.

@rrustema @libreoffice Also, a hot tip - if you want a distraction-free writing experience in Writer, hit Ctrl+Shift+J to toggle full-screen mode. It hides absolutely everything and then it's just you and the words.
