Turns out, this was German comedian Maximilian Schafroth. The Kingdom of Denmark has been threatened with war. Greenlandic children are traumatized. People are not sleeping. Soldiers are patrolling to prevent the invation. And Schafroth thought this would be a fun stunt in our age of disinformation.

E.g. when Trump imposed tariffs, a comedian from the heute show waited in front of an American supermarket in Germany with a hi-viz west labeled "Zoll" (customs) and demanded a 25% bite of candy bars that had just been purchased. That was actually quite hilarious.

@randahl I think I have heard that raising a foreign flag is technically illegal in Denmark, but there was talk of changing this. Has this happened? And would this law apply on Greenland? Was he attempting an illegal act, and could be barred from entry in the future?
