Last night FCC Chairman Brendan Carr forced CBS to cancel Colbert's interview of Texas Senate Candidate James Talarico—and now you know fascism is here.

@QasimRashid
As I understand it CBS complied in advance. -
@QasimRashid
I wonder how many voters who supported right wing parties in part due to fears of "cancel culture" are noticing that its the right wing parties are cancelling their critics. Its time people on the centre and the left point out who is doing the cancelling and censoring their critics.@jwi @QasimRashid Zero. They have the awareness of a common household brick. Their social media feed/Fox/etc tells them how they think and feel.
The one thing they are good at is compartmentalizing. Somehow they just don't process it as the same thing that they claimed that was and instead see it as a wholly separate thing.

@QasimRashid even if it unintentional, now he has far more mainstream name recognition than his primary opponent - a black female candidate. Wonder which of the two, a white supremacist regime prefers to be at capital hill, even if it is for their opposition...

@QasimRashid the way I understood Colbert's own description, is that his channel forced him to do that. The FCC chairman did no such thing just suggested to "think about such thing"....
This is how they might claim this is different - "we didn't ask, force, coerce people! They did it completely by their own chice, wink-wink".
This is another example of anticipatory obedience, that is just as bad as the behaviour that prompts it. Go Colbert!

@htpcnz @QasimRashid They think Talarico would be harder to beat in November, so they're trying hard to suppress him. This is what he thinks about 'Christian Nationalists: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Blph_2RSBno

It's made worse by how many people as soon as the shoe is on the other foot will claim they knew but pretended to still believe for survival.
Look for the ones who got quiet shortly after this. There's a better chance then others they know what's up.
