@metin That's precisely why I always remove OneDrive when installing or updating Windows.
Unfortunately, typical debloat scripts do not do this, e.g.:

..."@daniel Yeah, I also debloated Windows back when I was still using it. It's very annoying you need to get rid of lots of unwanted stuff, and that it's also pretty difficult for not-so tech-savvy users. Windows has enshittified a lot in the past decade.

@metin I agree, and it is intentional. The predatory nature of Windows is immediately apparent when you compare its installation to that of Unix. Unix is opt-in for all features involving telemetry or data collection, Windows is opt-out; at least for the options they expose in the first place...

@daniel Ah, good ol' Unix. I used that back in the mid-1990s, when I needed to communicate between my Amiga and Silicon Graphics machines, via the intranet of the company where I worked at the time.

@metin @Binder this is also an issue in business sharepoint online (onedrive is just sharepoint/spo is just onedrive), which we have reported and also had to code solutions around so that our employees don't accidentally fall to the ms dark patterns and delete our (earth science) engineering work for clients 🥴
