I just found the #KiCad Prism project: https://github.com/krishna-swaroop/KiCAD-Prism
Its a web collaboration tool for kicad projects. With a viewer for board and schematic. There are also features for comments and documentation.
This looks really promising. It just needs Activitypub integration
I have not tested it myself -screenshots were taken from the project page.
