A single 16gb DDR4-2133 stick is listed for 55€.
A single 16gb DDR5-4800 stick is listed as 170€.Both were the cheapest that were listed from german retailers (excluding AliExpress listings). Both have risen in price by about 250 to 300% in 3 months (DDR4 is just way cheaper).
Guess I'll stick with DDR4 systems in general for the foreseeable future. They're still powerful enough even for heavy gaming anyway.

For context, the DDR4 stick began at about 25€ and the DDR5 stick at around 55€. A reasonable price gap for modern, more asked for technology.
What we have right now is just absurd.

luckily i bought my 128GB DDR4-3200 a year ago - the same kit now costs 3 times as much
funny side note; i accidentally destroyed one of my nvme and went for warranty - i bought the drive for CHF122.-, the same model wasn't available anymore and the price at the retailer was around CHF2100.-i mean, WTF?!
