There are reports of 12,500 dead in Iran.
But the Fediverse has barely a murmur.
Same when Syria fell.
It was never about care for the people of the Middle East.

It never was... yes.
And it's so telling that there is tumbleweed all over any place - they just don't care for Iran.
They are calling us names and are marking us as enemies.
It's devastating in so many ways. -

How is "I don't agree that no one cares about the middle east" supporting harassment?

My impression is that there is a huge discrepancy in how little support there is from the left with regard to Iran.
In the conflict following the attack, or rather the pogrom, on 7 October, large sections of the international left were very quick to show solidarity with Gaza, but now I see not much solidarity at all with the protests and ppl there in Iran.
In my bubble, we show solidarity with those who want to overthrow the terrorist regime in Iran.
So it's not a bubble problem... it's a structural problem with large parts of a group we are somewhat feel connected to.
